| I believe teachers should be provided due process. Tenure is not guaranteed in Utah but due process is. I believe due process protects teachers from the whims of principals or superintendents. I believe is due process is tied to evaluations of teachers this would produce the most effective teachers. I also believe that a merit pay system developed with teachers could work but if imposed by the legislature, I would not support it. | |||

| I would like to see increased funding for education. This would be funded by restructuring taxes to pre-2002 levels. I would also like to see the protection of water rights in Utah's West Desert. Finally I would like to see the legislature leave local control to local governing agencies. |
